Third Level Lessons 

Personal pronouns refer to people, animals, thins, places, and concepts. They can function as subject or object in a sentence. Learn more about how to use Personal Pronouns. 


Who's that girl? Can you describe people? learn different ways to do it: physical characteristics,  character traits, the clothing they wear, where they are, and the things they do. Everything can be useful to identify people.


A collective story. Write your own story at the same time you review the past tense. Just follow the directions. To write your story on this document, first open it; then click on "EDIT". Finally type your story.

Giving Directions. Practice how to ask and give directions around the city.

Sports. Review vocabulary, frequency expressions and habits, listening activities related to sports.

What sports do you like? Look at the image and practice expressing how much you like sports.

Are you doing sports? Summer sports, winter sports, collocations with sports, express your abilities with can.

I read a book. Sentence transformation in the basic tenses.

Eat an apple. All verbal tense review with a very simple sentence transformation.

Modal verbs. Practice how to express skills and abilities, permition, possibility, probability, certenty, advice and obligation with moda vebs.

Placement of adjectives. Where do you place an adjective?

Check the correct order of adjectives.

Bat or vat? practice the pronunciation of minimal pair with  /b/ and /v/ sounds.

Contable and uncountable Nouns. Nouns are the names of things. Some can be counted: 1, 2, 3; other nouns can't be counted. Food is agood topic to practice: I drink some milk, But I don't drink any water. I need some apples and there aren't any in the kitchen.

Food and containers. I buy a bottle or a carton of juice. Do you have a jar of honey? Practice containers and food.

Give a recipe. What's your favorite recipe? what do you need to make it? Do you know some easy recipes for a healthy breakfast? Check this activity.

What is a Healthy Diet. The World Halth Organization (WHO) gives a definition.

What will you do first? Practice future will and time clauses.

The human body. Parts of the body, organs and systems in the human body.


Fourth Level



Five Senses. We perceive the world though the senses. We see trees, we listen to music, we touch a soft sweater. but, are there more than five senses?

Eating out. What do you say when you go out to eat in a restaurant or when you buy food? Practice some useful expressions

Present perfect and adverbs. Present perfect is used to talk about experience. Sometimes we use words Such as: YET, ALREADY, EVER, NEVER, or JUST. Learn when and how.

Internet, Social Media, and difficult times. When we have a problem, we look for advice. What should we do when we have a problem? How can Enternet and Social Media help to solve a difficult situation? Let's practice asking and giving advice or recommendations with should.

Give advice on healthy habits. What kind of lifestyle do you have? Do you practice sports and eat healthy food or watch TV for long hours and eat lots of junk food? Some advice is in order here.

Components of a healthy lifestyle. How often do you exercise? Do you eat vegetables? How many hours do you sleep every night? Let's discover how healthy is your lifestyle.

Describe symptoms and give advice. Do you feel well? What's the matter with you? Should you see a doctor? Learn this important information.

Preventing diseases. What diseases affect mainly children? What diseases affect cold or hot countries? What can we do to prevent diseases? Get some interesting information and give advice.

Making plans. Talk about your plans for the future with "be going to".

Life plans. What would you like to be when you grow up? Would you like to get up early or late? Learn how to express your wishes.

Migrations in the past. people move all the time, and so do animals. Eo you know ny famous migrant people? When did your family move to the city?

Let's practice talking about common health problems and giving advice.

With two classmates create a video. Use the information above about asking and giving advice, recommendations and suggestions. The video should last 5 minutes.

You have learned how to talk about places and give recommendations on what to do there.
Now we are going to create a collective tourist guide.

Activity 4. What might happened if...?


in 2014 we learned that many of the effects of climate change are irreversible. Sea levels have been rising at a greater rate year after year, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates they could rise by another meter or more by the end of this century.

As National Geographic showed us in 2013, sea levels would rise by 216 feet if all the land ice on the planet were to melt. This would dramatically reshape the continents and drown many of the world's major cities.

Directions:
1. Look at the video what would it happened if the ice melted... 
you can also look at the follow up videos about Europe, Asia and The US on You Tube.
2. Answer the question: What would the earth look like if all the ice melted?
3. Share your predictions as a comment and answer to your classmates comments.

Check the examples: If all the ice melted, sea levels would rise over 200 feet.
If all the ice melted, Venice in Italy would dissapear.





Activity 5. Listening


In class you have recorded a podcast about a country or a city. We are now going to listen to all of them so you can answer the questions your classmates asked.

Activity 6. Reading a short story 

Reading provides everyone with an opportunity to get in touch with the language in a different way. Besides having a very good time, we are able to practice vocabulary, grammar, and expressions as we see the language alive in a text. Also we can learn culture, science, and so much more.

Activity 7. Reading a non fiction book


In the book How To Be An Alien, George Mikes presents an ironic critic of English culture. Click on the title of the book and then click on the arrow that indicates "donwload" (descargar) and enjoy your reading.

Activity 8. What do Indians do better than Americans?


Some cultures can do some things better than others.

a) Whatch the video  10 things Indians do better than Americans . If you want to see the script for this video, click on the legend "see more".
Then do the excersice bellow to practice comparative adjectives and your comprehension.

b) Now whatch the video 10 things French do better than Americans. Make a questionnaire of 5 questions and take it to class. Exchange your questionnaire with your classmates and compare your answers.

c) Could you thing of something similar to the vídeos you just watched? Think of 10 thing that Mexicans do better than Americans, 10 things that young people do better than adults or something the like. Work in pairs and create a 5-minute presentation to show to your classmates.

Activity 9. Listening About Places


Here you will listen to descriptions of different places made by some students. Listen to at least three of them and answer the questionnaires they also produced.
